Frequently Asked Questions

Facembrace® Sleep Apnea Comfort Accessory

Although the Facembrace is thin and supple, it can feel a bit stiff when it’s brand new. This stiffness decreases with use and washing. Don’t hesitate to wash your Facembrace, making sure to follow the care instructions found in the user manual. Washing your comfort accessory before trying it out is in fact recommended.

Wearing and cleaning your Facembrace won’t affect your 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Users can find our full policy online to acquaint themselves with the general rules and special conditions of the Rheabrio warranty.

Wet wipes can be used for cleaning, provided that the chemicals they use are safe for your face. A PreEmpt or CaviWipe towelette might be appropriate, for example. This method alone can’t replace the regular washing of your Facembrace with clean water and mild soap, however. The frequency of such washing is left to the discretion of individual users, based on their particular needs. In any case, washing your Facembrace regularly (once a week, for example), will keep it in good condition for a longer period of time.

Some of the materials in Facembrace are sensitive to the ozone used in SoClean® process. Using this device will, therefore, damage the structure of your Facembrace and void the warranty. You can easily find more appropriate care options in your user manual.

Yes, this is completely normal. Contact with skin for a prolonged period (6 to 8 hours per night) may create darker areas on the inside or the outside of your Facembrace. The effect is caused by oils produced naturally by the skin, or present in certain creams. Washing with mild soap and clean water, following the product care guidelines in the user manual, is sufficient for keeping your Facembrace in good condition. Changes in color do not affect its performance in any way.

If your Facembrace is the right size, it won’t ride up at night, it will stay in place at the right part of the nose along with your mask. If you notice any movement, it may indicate that the straps are too loose. Users who find their Facembrace moving up at night often conclude that it must be too big. In fact, the exact opposite is more often the case: this movement may actually be caused by using a size too small. In such cases, the mask may push against the Facembrace because it’s not in the right position relative to the nose. This problem can be resolved by opting for a larger size.
